Happy New Year everyone! This month hasn’t been great so let’s just get on with the fail shall we? Here’s to hoping 2017 goes better if I follow my resolution.
Weight loss goals
Not as bad as I thought really. Ok the actual weight gain is pretty terrible but a slight loss in fat percentage and no gain on the waist is good. I do also think that a couple of pounds of weight gain are from the fact it’s that time of the month due any day now plus I did scoff all bar 2 slices of a 12″ pizza last night! It’s also no surprise as I was going to continue watching what I was eating through December then Niall said he also wants to be a bit healthier in the new year so let’s eat all the food now. Thanks Niall!

This month hasn’t been great for exercise again although I did manage to get a couple of sessions of yoga in. Only short sessions as I don’t want to push it with my leg and it has definitely been aching and more twitchy after doing it but I will start to slowly build it up throughout January. The start of the month was fine for my usual walking but I’ve had 10 days off over Christmas so without the necessity of walking to the office I’ve slacked a bit there (although I have tried to walk regularly around the flat if only to keep my leg quiet; sitting is not good for it).
Again Niall wants to be healthier and workout with me at least on the weeks he has no work so this will help motivate me. I obviously can’t leap straight into a full program but eventually we will do 3 days a week, 1 yoga, 1 pilates and 1 kettle bells plus I will still have my 5 days of walking.

So here we go. This year is the year it gets sorted out. I need to get and keep my weight down to prevent any more DVT issues if nothing else. I’m not going to cut out things I enjoy for the sake of it, this is a journey and needs to be sustainable so it’s all about tweaking things. My main issue as I’ve mentioned before is when there’s snack food in the house so I simply won’t buy it or I’ll make it harder to eat. Silly little things like emptying a pack of biscuits into a biscuit jar so instead of bringing the whole pack through to the PC and eating them all I will only take a few out of the jar and eat those.
