31 Day Challenge Prompts
We’re almost there! It’s been so much fun but so much work too and I’m losing steam a little bit (really not helped by the fact I now have the new A England collection and want to do nothing but wear that and stare at it all day). I will miss the challenge when it’s over but I’m looking forward to not having to do my nails, I can’t deny it! Plus I have my Meebox and Nailbox reviews to get done/post along with the To Emily Bronte review to get up. I’m also planning to chop my nails right back after I finish the challenge (the sides keep splintering very slightly) so I’m not looking forward to that much but it will be worth it.
Day 21: Inspired by a colour. I recently purchased Hercynia from Picture Polish and the tag line on it is “A galactic forest for your nails”. So since I didn’t do galaxy nails for the galaxy prompt I did it for this!
Day 22: Inspired by a song. I’ve wanted to do this since January when Fallout Boy released the album American Beauty/Psycho. This is based on Jet Pack Blues and the lyrics are “She’s in a long black coat tonight, waiting for me in the downpour outside. She’s singing baby come home in a melody of tears while the rhythm of the rain keeps time”.
Day 23: Inspired by a movie. The greatest movie of all time, Rocky Horror Picture Show! Which is also celebrating it’s 40th anniversary this month so quite appropriate.
Day 24: Inspired by a book. Well not a book, a series of books for me. Discworld by Terry Pratchett who unfortunately passed away this March. So this is my tribute to him though the pictures don’t do it justice. The base is actually Captive Goddess with a layer of Hurt No Living Thing (both A England) to try and make a mix of colours to work for Octarine, the colour of magic in his books. The hat is the iconic hat he wore pretty much everywhere.
Day 25: Inspired by fashion. I don’t follow fashion at all but all the blogs recently are teaching people how to make *random home item* look like it’s made of marble so I did marble nails. Very pleased with how these turned out.
Day 26: Inspired by pattern. Yeah so the To Emily Bronte collection turned up today. I got distracted. This is actually two of the new polishes, “Cathy” and “Wuthering Heights”. Makes me think of a chunky knitted jumper.
Day 27: Inspired by artwork. Well kind of, inspired by comic books and Spiderman’s costume to be exact! The contrast didn’t come out very well in any of my pictures but this is “Let Me In” and “Spirit of the Moors” both from the new A England collection. Spirit of the Moors stamps perfectly.
Anyone else doing the challenge and feeling burnt out? Who’s looking forward to plain manicures?!
