31 Day Challenge Prompts
Week 3 has been and gone and it’s certainly getting tiring! Next week will be even more so as it’s getting far more arty, at least with the things I’m going to do with some of them. I did have one lazy day this week, glitter, where I didn’t do art at all but I think for 20 days now that’s pretty good going really. Also the UberChicBeauty mat has been invaluable. I’ll be doing a bit of a review on it at some point once the challenge is over though I’m sure you’ve already seen plenty about it if you follow nail artists. I’m also looking forward to this week as the new A England collection is going to be hitting my doorstep (and the shop) hopefully so can’t wait to try those 5 beauties out, plus my Nailbox and Meebox subscriptions will be here this week. Too much nail polish excitement for me to handle.
Anyway… on with what you’re actually here for, my week 3 nail art for the challenge.
Day 14: Flowers. Not overly impressed with this one, my rose isn’t as good as it could be though the fact I was just using a dotting tool instead of digging out a proper brush didn’t help. Still love “Rose Bower” from A England though (the pink base colour)
Day 15: Delicate Print. A subtle stamping (first time using my creative stamper) of “Majesty” from Picture Polish over the new purple “Slip Stream” from Barry M’s Speedy Quick Dry range
Day 16: Geometric. My first try at reverse stamping using my UberChicBeauty mat and the actual technique went well, I just still really suck at applying decals! All polishes are A England (Camelot, Perceval, Order of the Garter and Holy Grail – Limited Edition).
Day 17: Glitter. My lazy day! I simply tried a glitter I’ve had a while and never used (Nails Inc – Oxford Gardens). Pleasantly surprised by its density, this was only 2 coats
Day 18: Half Moons. I hate half moon manicures usually but this is actually my favourite so far of the challenge. So proud of my ladybirds! The gorgeous red is A England “Perceval” and the black detailing was done with a Models Own nail art pen. The eyes were dotted on with a Barry M nail art pen. Definitely going to recreate this one in the near future. Got tons of compliments at work too!
Day 19: Galaxies. Yeah so this is obviously meant to be as in our galaxy, space, all that jazz. But tough, I am obsessed with Galaxy Salted Caramel at the moment and luckily had a Barry M polish the exact colour of the foil so here are my chocolate Galaxy nails
Day 20: Watermarble. This is a recreation of something already in the nail art gallery, last years autumn metallic nails but I did it straight on the nail instead of actually watermarbling. Not bad, needs a little refinement of technique though
So there we go, another week down, just under 2 left! I will definitely be glad when it’s over but I’ll sort of miss it too. Remind me of that next year when I do it again 😉 Loving browsing instagram and seeing everyone elses designs, please send me links or comments below.
