31 Day Challenge Prompts
So here we go, my first ever attempt at the 31 day challenge. A tough schedule, a tough list of prompts and it hasn’t been helped by the fact I’ve apparently lost all skill in hand poses, photography and lighting (what little I had anyway). So please do excuse the pictures. I may eventually do individual posts for the manicures but for now please take a look at the first 6 days of the challenge and let me know what you think of my efforts below! Even though he doesn’t read this I’ll also take the opportunity to thank my boyfriend who sat with me over the bank holiday weekend and helped me come up with ideas for all 31 days 🙂
Day 1: Red. I was attempting to do a vertical gradient here with a paler stripe in the middle so you have a permanent “shine” to your nails. It didn’t work.
Day 2: Orange. I went for an idea I’ve had for a while though originally I’d considered a white base with the orange fiery tips. Kind of worked, might need to work on the flamey shape of the tips though.
Day 3: Yellow. Lemons! I’m still obsessed with the yellow I got in August’s Nailbox so had to use that as the base and am quite pleased with how these turned out.
Day 4: Green. Inspired by the dappled light you get coming through a forest canopy, this was done by sponging 5 different greens on over my nails randomly.
Day 5: Blue. Inspired by a sword in Final Fantasy: Realm Reborn (Aymeric’s, for those who play). The pattern on it was far too complex to fit on a nail but I took a section of it and kind of made it work. Should have used striping tape for crisper lines though.
Day 6: Violet. Well obviously with a prompt like that I thought of the flowers so here’s my little attempt at them. Should really have used the opportunity to try out the one stroke technique. We live and learn!
Are any of you doing the 31 day challenge? I’m following the #31dc2015 on Instagram and have seen some amazing works on there so please add yours or give me a link below so I can be inspired!
