Hello to you too little MeeBox! Love the packaging that this comes in

August Meebox 001 Review

The very first MeeBox! What's inside?

The very first MeeBox! What’s inside?

You may have seen my review of the July Nailbox last month, my first subscription box and I was very impressed with it. Around the same time I saw a new one (Nailbox UK is also still pretty new I believe) called MeeBox. Well I had to give this one a go as well so today I had the lovely surprise (well ok it wasn’t a surprise but shush) of getting both my August Nailbox (to be reviewed shortly) and the very first MeeBox. I will do a comparison post but for now I just wanted to get the contents out there and show just what MeeBox does.

As with the Nailbox, MeeBox is going to be despatched once a month in a limited supply and will contain 3 – 4 polishes and 1 – 2 tools. The box is sent out for around the 22nd of each month so a lovely little surprise will appear shortly after! You can sign up from the first of each month when the theme will be revealed (but not the contents). I’ll update this post when I can with the subscription rates as it’s not currently showing on their site; I went for the one month one this time around which was £20.00 (just spotted you can do 3 months for £54.00). From what I can work out buying everything in here seperately would be around £25.00 plus you get a tracked parcel that you can view on the Hermes courier website so it has worked out as a nice saving.

Oooh California Dreamin', the first teasing glance of the contents. Very well packaged so not going to get any damage

So on to the haul! Quite a nice little mix here, the black squares are actually 30 palm tree vinyls/stencils though you can’t make that out on the photo. There are 3 swatch sticks – I would have used them to swatch the 3 polishes but I prefer my swatches on hands, something never looks quite right on the sticks. The small bottle is a sample size of CND Solar Oil, a nail and cuticle oil that my friend has recently tried the Intense version of and she is loving it. Finally we have the three polishes – Color Club’s “Disco Dress”, Model’s Own “Turquoise Gloss” and China Glaze’s “Flip Flop Fantasy”. I got some quick swatches done, please excuse any lumpy bits as the latex I use for easy peel swatches has glitter in it and I was in a rush too!

Color Club

Color Club “Disco Dress” – a lovely blue/purple that only needed one coat. It’s not quite as blue as in this photo but is absolutely gorgeous

China Glaze

China Glaze “Flip Flop Fantasy” – my colleague immediately stole this one as she’s going to Spain tomorrow and this is a perfect colour for tans. Lovely neon coral/peach with a slightly matte finish. This was 2 coats

Models Own

Models Own “Turquoise Gloss” – I love this colour and am wearing it as I write this. 2 coats shown here, gorgeous shine to it, nothing else to say

I can’t wait to get doing some proper nail art with these, I may have to put the palm trees on over this Turquoise Gloss. A very promising start from MeeBox. Has anyone else received one? Let me know what your thoughts are on the box.

This seems a bit pricey compared to Nailbox although good brands as well. Flip flop fantasy is in this month’s Nailbox too, bit cheeky on China Glaze’s behalf.

Yep I couldn’t believe it when I opened both boxes and got the same one in both! Putting my Nailbox review up shortly, it’s definitely my preferred one right now but MeeBox is in its first month so gotta give them a chance to find their footing.
